JIM MILLER
FOR COLORADO SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 5
FREEDOM

HONESTY
TRANSPARENCY
Elect a guy that represents the Hard Working Colorado Springs Community.
We need to quit punishing the overworked, overtaxed citizens of Colorado Springs
"We should live in a city where if someone does the right thing stopping a crime or helping someone they should not be in fear of criminal charges or losing their job for being a good member of society."

Who is Jim "Just a Guy" Miller?
Jim Miller is a Marine Corp Veteran, loving father, radio personality, small business owner and community leader. During the 2023 Mayoral Race, wanting nothing to do with politicians, Jim became known as the representative of the hard working class.
Sick of the same ole politicians masquerading as fighters, he began his campaign fighting for regular people tired of the same ole nonsense.
Jim was tired of being brushed off by politicians getting nothing more than I'll look into it with no further response. It became evident to Jim, that those presently serving did not care about the freedoms, rights, and safety of those they served, limiting the ability for everyday citizens to present their concerns.
When 4 convicted pedophiles moved next door to his house, adjacent to a church, the city ignored the issue. Wanting to protect his daughter, who is a survivor, and others from the threat, Jim embarked on a mission to ensure that pedophiles cannot live near churches, parks, daycares, schools or anywhere children congregate.
Even though Jim may take a strong stance, and does not appear as your typical politician, he has caught the attention of several local political leaders, proving that he is respected as a representative of his fellow citizens. With notable endorsements from Longinos Gonzalez, former County Commissioner, Heidi Ganahl, former candidate for Governor and founder of Rocky Mountain Voice, and the endorsement of many other political, community and business leaders, it is apparent the impact Jim has in the Colorado Springs community.

Responsible Growth
Colorado Springs has a long history of placing the cart before the horse. Sustainable growth is possible, but only when planning for growth and the pace of providing infrastructure outraces the approval of new developments.
We cannot put profits ahead of the citizens of Colorado Springs. The city, county and state, can drastically improve the affordable housing crisis through reducing the tax burdens of property tax, lowering utility cost, eliminating access fees, and reducing the wasteful tax spending by the city.
While the benefits of successful growth, may be far reaching, bringing jobs and new opportunities into the city, many residents are simply asking “At what cost?”
Colorado Springs has a Major Crime Problem
According to NeighborhoodScout, Colorado Springs is safer than 4% of cities. You read that right, 96% of cities in America are safer.
In February of 2024, CSPD took 3 min longer to respond to Priority 1 calls vs just two years earlier.
Rather than prioritize the safety of the public, the city has been more focused on increasing revenue via meter enforcement, code enforcement and traffic tickets.
We cannot continue to develop and add new residents, without solving the growing crime problem. It is time to put cops back in our neighborhoods, prosecute violent crime and monitor where sex offenders are residing in relation to areas where children congregate.

Protect Our Youth
Recreational marijuana is now here. It is game time when it comes to educating schools, parents and leaders on identifying marijuana in the schools and community possessed by youth.
We need to ensure that recreational marijuana is kept at a safe distance away from campuses, just like we need to make sure pedophiles are not living near places where youth congregate.
Our city council has refused the topic of passing an ordinance prohibiting a sex offender from living near schools, parks, etc.
Colorado Springs
Department of Government Efficiency
Colorado Springs City Council also serves as the board of Colorado Springs Utilities. An organization that has continuously wasted money as utility costs continue to rise.
Colorado Springs Utilities does not need to spend their customers hard earned money on advertising, it is not as though residents have a choice in providers. The entire organization should be audited and access fees should be eliminated. Exorbitant access fees do not reward customers who are intentional in conserving resources, oftentimes finding that they pay just as much for the right to access those utilities as they do use them.
Moreover, Charitable organizations are receiving funding to provide resources to aid in the homelessness crisis, yet very little has been done to reduce the burden on residents and businesses from the homeless crisis.
All organizations receiving government funding should be audited and evaluated on a regular basis.

LIFE
The Springs now has more sex offenders than homeless people and they live by the schools, churches, parks and daycares where small children frequent and congregate, this is unacceptable!

LIBERTY
Your property, your rights!
Colorado Springs must stop harassing hard working people and focus their attention on keeping the public safe.
Accountability
As utility prices continue to skyrocket, Colorado Springs residents must remember that City Council serves as the board for Colorado Springs Utilities. Every last cent must be accounted for to ensure residents of this great city are not taken advantage of.
